Sunday Club 1st July 2018

Sunday 1st July 2018

Joshua and the story of the Spies and Rahab.

Today we welcomed a new member, Nancy, to Sunday Club.

At the beginning of the session we talked about trust, (Who we trust? And why we trust these people?) followed by a game of trust.

We talked about man called Joshua who trusted God because he knew that God loved him and would help him to do amazing things. -  Bringing the walls of Jericho down and conquering the city

However, before we talked about this event Michael confidently read another story leading up to it,  about 2 spies and a lady called Rahab which also shows how sometimes people have to trust others as well.

The group recapped the story by ordered picture of the event and then Michael again read the main event of how Joshua fought the battle of Jericho and conquered the city.

Prayer,    Dear Lord , Thank you for loving us. Help us to trust you and live as you would want us to.

                                                                                       Amen

Following on, the group made a “trust basket”  with signs showing that God loves us, helps us, is powerful, is always with us, God helped Joshua, God’s way is best and we can always trust him.

Here is one of the baskets made by the children in Sunday Club today. The basket has 'trust' written on one side and 'obey' on the other.
